Doing a gut renovation of an apartment is a fantastic opportunity for a fresh start. Designing from the ground up allows architects and designers to get creative and think outside of the confines of what they were previously working with. When renovating this one-bedroom apartment located in the East Village, architect Jeffrey White of EAU-Ecology Architecture Urbanism turned to VIGO to outfit the kitchen sink and faucet.

This spacious apartment unit, located in a classic pre-war building, lent itself perfectly to a makeover. EAU-Ecology Architecture Urbanism chose VIGO’s Edison Pull-Down Spray Kitchen Faucet and the 32-inch Mercer Stainless Steel Undermount Kitchen Sink for the updated, modern kitchen.

The Edison Faucet, which has a 360° swivel spout, features a dual-action spray head and a 30-inch extendable hose. Its smart handle lever design moves 90° forward, allowing it to be installed in tighter space without hitting the backsplash. Jeffrey White chose a matte black finish, plated with 7 layers to protect against rust and corrosion, for a modern and durable flair.

Next came the 32” Mercer Stainless-Steel Undermount Kitchen Sink. This sink was selected for its 9 7/8” deep basin, coated with SoundAbsorbTM, sound-muting technology that expertly prevents cookware and dishes from clanging inside the sink. Highly functional, this 304-stainless-steel sink comes complete with a protective stainless-steel grid and strainer. The sink installs underneath the countertop to optimize on space and features elegant yet functional drain grooves.

By installing these pieces in this lovely East-Village one-bedroom, EAU-Ecology Architecture Urbanism developed a well-designed, practical, city-chic kitchen. The VIGO Edison Faucet and the VIGO Mercer Stainless Steel Kitchen Sink can be found on VIGO’s site, as well as through their trusted partners.
