TEXTURE & CONTRAST

Toronto-based artist and designer Nike Onile reimagines kitchen design with contrasting textures and minimalist attributes. By removing the bulkhead above the refrigerator, Onile extended the upper kitchen cabinets to the ceiling. Maximizing storage space in her galley-like kitchen gave it a refreshing feel, where countertops are free from clutter.

She refaced the lower cabinets with a DIY kitchen cabinet remodel so that they would match with the new upper kitchen cabinets. Wanting to bring more light into the kitchen, Onile asked her contractor to make the wall perpendicular to the peninsula the exact length of the planks. She also updated her kitchen appliances and fixtures to give the kitchen a more modern look.

Replacing a kitchen faucet and installing the best kitchen faucet, The VIGO’s Edison Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet with a kitchen sink soap dispenser in matte brushed gold gave her kitchen a pop of color against a muted backdrop of black and white tones.

BRIGHT & WHITE

When blogger Koko bought a home in Austin, Texas, she knew she wanted an all-white kitchen. Turning her dreams into reality, she started her renovations with white kitchen cabinets and white countertops. “I’ve always wanted a white farmhouse sink in my future white kitchen and I can’t believe it’s come true! I selected this 36” matte stone farmhouse flat apron front kitchen sink from VIGO and it’s SO beautiful,” states Koko in her blog A Taste of Koko.

With her kitchen with a farmhouse sink ready for some high-quality luxury, she also removed the old faucet and opted for an updated faucet for the kitchen sink. Her kitchen island with a sink was outfitted with the VIGO Livingston Magnetic Kitchen Faucet in matte brushed gold to match the brass fixtures, pulls and appliances.

CLEAN & CLASSIC

Blogger Kristina Maksimchuk gives her classic white kitchen a modern touch with matte black hardware. Paired with a stainless steel sink, The VIGO Parsons Pull Down Faucet in matte black adds industrial charm to her country-inspired kitchen and coordinates perfectly with the pendant lights and white kitchen cabinet handles and drawer pulls.

Maksimchuk styles her kitchen with stylish kitchen accessories like wooden cooking utensils, a marble cutting board and retro-inspired countertop appliances like a toaster and tea kettle. Making the kitchen a communal space, she adds Parisian bistro-inspired rattan framed bar stools at the kitchen island. Dried flowers sit on top of gray countertops for the finishing touches, lending the kitchen a cozy look and feel.

WARM & WELCOMING

Mom and blogger Colleen of Lemon Thistle use her DIY skills and...some contractors to renovate the kitchen in her family’s ranch home. Colleen and her partner decided to take a risk in the kitchen for this home, a jump from the all-white kitchen in their first home and they chose to go with olive-green cabinets. The pair underwent a major home renovation and the kitchen was not left out of an entire redesign.

The kitchen was moved to the side of the house with a bay window and a back-facing view and the dining room was moved to the front of the home. With the sink in the bay window, the family chose The VIGO Greenwich Pull-Down Spray Kitchen Faucet in matte black and s VIGO double bowl undermount stainless steel kitchen sink to coordinate with the matte black hardware throughout the kitchen to meet all of their hot and cold water needs.

HIDDEN TREASURES

Kate Pearce’s vintage-inspired basement speakeasy pays homage to the prohibition era as it takes you back in time with thrifted treasures and antiques. Pearce had The VIGO Zurich Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet with Spray in matte brushed gold and VIGO Matte Stone™ fluted farmhouse sink installed in the bar kitchen, a combination that she says is perfect for the speakeasy space. “The tall pulldown faucet is absolutely perfect for rinsing those huge beer-brewing vats, and the dual-tone finish is just remarkably stunning,” she mentions in Kate Pearce Vintage. Jade-colored subway tiles add a rustic yet glamorous charm to the eclectic hideaway.
